Photon illuminates huge buildings in Montréal’s Quartier des Spectacles

For those looking to check out what’s new in the city, there are now digital creations downtown on place Émilie Gamelin, place de la Paix, Bibliothèque et Archives nationales du Québec and centre de design de l’UQAM.

The videoprojections are innovative and driven by the Phothon software made by firm VYV.

The illuminated buildings offer a huge canvas for artistic creation, either simple illustration or video animations. There are also a few playing with the wall’s texture and architecture.

Photon, the technology developed by VYV, allows a precise mapping, which follows the architectural 3D data of the buildings, allowing video playback and input at very high resolutions.
