A program made to accelerate startups

The FounderFuel program is the best effort I have seen in Montréal to get a startup accelerator. What they do is invest $10k plus $5k per co-founder in early stage startups willing to move to the Notman House for 3 months and work on their startup.

If you’re mobile and low on cash, it’s one of the best sources of early funding available to startups. Also, you’re guaranteed to be around a ton of other cool startups and mentors from all over Canada.

Here’s a video released to celebrate the success of the first cohort:

Of course, apart from the first $10k and the 6% stake, what’s really interesting for entrepreneurs is getting their pitch right from experienced businessmen and serial entrepreneurs, an invaluable (priceless) value.

Meeting FounderFuel

Ian Jeffrey, general manager of Founderfuel, urges you to attend the upcoming events so that you get to know the program and also the people you are going to work with for the next 3 months.

The meetups will have general information about the program, and I am sure Ian will also have stories about the first cohorts and how you can become part of the initiative by applying now, right before the Jan deadline.

For each event, you can meet at least one mentor and at least one team from the program. Don’t forget to ask questions about work, schedules, and the added value.

All the details on the eventbrite page.
