This time, startups are invited in Toronto, more specifically in the MaRS discovery center, and will be invited to present to a select crowd of investors, executives, as well as successful entrepreneurs. Like in other events like StartupCamp, a group of investors, leaders and successful entrepreneurs were asked to choose the most innovative startups from a list of hundreds applications. And it’s nice to see 4.5 companies from Montreal:
- Nexalogy will be out there to talk about their new product, nexalive, which lets brands track trends on twitter more easily. See example here
- Vanilla Forums, the free open source forums, to support your community
- Recoset, a play in digital advertising. Curiously, it doesn’t even have a public product yet. Go figure how the CIX committee selected this startup. Did they just listen to the pitch and got envious when seeing the digital ad market?
- Woozworld provides online tools, games and entertainment for kids & teenagers. They’re now all over the latest Twilight craze
- Massive Damage, another montreal (cough!) mobile game startup, is also going there. Say hi to them!
