Playerize, with an all-star team from Vancouver, jumps on the social gaming opportunity, and is providing an ambitious set of tools to game publishers, to acquire new players, and also increase engagement.
Playerize was introduced today by one of their new investors (Rho Ventures) as opportunistic entrepreneurs. With the explosion of social gaming, mainly on Facebook, one of the challenges is how to acquire players. For game publishers who want to get beyond simple facebook ads, Playerize can also provide google adwords campaigns, display ads, social ads, and email marketing. Playerize can also provide monetization tools, increase engagement, and provide retention tools to publishers, meaning they’re aligning themselves to be the #1 provider for any game developer looking to make a living out of their facebook app.
One of Playerize’s focus was a dashboard, showing clearly user acquisition, as well as other metrics to track the app.
Like a few FounderFuel startups, the product is still rough on the edges (most pages linked from the homepage are not working, see above, and the homepage seems there’s something missing as well), but this is minor and it’s only a couple of days of work. Having done a few facebook and adwords campaigns, I’m also surprised to see they managed to technically scale that part of the product. If this was the case, congrats on a job well done! A few VCs and angels saw the opportunity and the team already announced they have closed a round of funding. Congrats to the Playerize team!
