Ooh la la, a team from Toronto, had a fun presentation today at FounderFuel, recalling everyone how college equals to parties, people and pizza.
With a team made of 9 co-founders, they’ve done a lot, from groups, to events to many other social features. The application presented though focused on 3 main features though, and that’s events discovery, connecting with people, and rewards. Users install the app on iOS, Android, Blackberry, and can discover right away what’s up on the campus. It’s looks so simple that you want the same app for your city!
Oohlala also unveiled partnerships after partnerships, from universities, to student groups to brands. University of Toronto as well as Mcgill students are big users of the application, with huge adoption rates, and users coming back and back again. Clubs are using the app to broadcast their activities, and are a big part of the distribution equation.
The ooh la la team are still students and it will be interesting to see if they are all going to pursue this venture. What’s known is that it’s the most hard-working and most dedicated team in FounderFuel, with most members working late at nights, and perhaps one of the only team you’d find working on weekends, while other teams are probably taking a more relaxed pace. In my opinion, if there’s any challenge, their dedication would go through any barrier.
Congrats to the whole ooh la la team!
