Groupideo asks the essential question: how do you share fun youtube videos? Sharing the link on facebook or email isn’t enough, what about seeing your friends’ face when seeing the video?
By using any native webcam, and with easy connections to your Facebook and Twitter network, you can point to youtube playlists and videos, speak (not at the same time though!), and have endless hours of fun.
The experience is akin to inviting a bunch of friends at home, grabbing the popcorn, and see together a DVD or a fun show on TV. Everybody has a fun time, and this can lead to “Youtube” parties.
Groupideo initially demoed at MtlNewTech #29 but the 3-men strong team wasn’t able back then to demo their application. They’ve been hard at work though, and has since added vimeo videos to the list of features.
If you check groupideo’s page, it’s currently in closed beta. Alex Galasso (@Alex_Galasso) , one of the co-founders, is at all Montreal tech events though, if you ask him nicely, I’m sure he’ll give you a pass to try out the serivce.
