Montreal Tech Watch

The bug hunt UI testing sessionWe organized a first Bug Hunt last month for 3 web applications and 1 iPhone app. The event gathered a diverse panel of users, with different interests and abilities, who would go through the applications looking for UI problems. For most application developers, it’s an eye opener that resets their priorities.

So the next TheBugHunt session will be this upcoming thursday June 23rd. Like in the first event, we are asking companies & users to come over and help track down application errors, bugs and UI problems. Each web or mobile application is tested by a diverse panel of users during 20 to 40 minutes, and user comments are logged “live” in a common Google Docs. In the previous sessions, applications had an average 20 bugs/comments found by users.

Currently, we have Enterprising.ly and Bandmo, and we are looking for 2 additional applications. If you are launching soon an application or you are looking to improve an existing app, then it’s an incredible opportunity. In exchange, we ask that companies submitting their app bring in pizza and beer and also should bring at least 2 users.
