Prompt has announced today a major funding from the Ministère du Développement Économique, Innovation et Exportation (MDEIE). It’s a non-profit organization whose main goal is to fund innovation efforts in the province, through partnerships between universities and private companies, in information technology, green tech, and aslo healthcare. Prompt also help getting research and development tax credits.

The additional funding is said to cover their needs for the next three years. Between 2008 and 2010, Prompt had partnerships with 27 companies, 10 universities, through 25 official partnerships. Companies applying to a potential funding needs to partner with at least 2 local universities, at least another company, and if possible, indicate if there are greenhouses gases reductions thanks to the developed technology. And of course, they need to be based in Québec (or at least planning to open a local branch). If you can comply with requirements, do apply, since it’s basically free money for your R&D programs.
