One of the greatest benefits of being at a place like the NotmanHouse is that you get in touch with so many potential users of your new venture. It’s easy to get a quick feedback from a newly developed functionality, and then update it right away based from the couple of people you’ve met at the Notman Café.
Of course, there are online sites which provides this kind of feedback (such as usertesting) but nothing beats live feedback, especially if you know how to “read” people’s reactions and communicate. Based on those observations, this is why we’re doing TheBugHunt, a new event targeted at startup fans, who would early access to a new site or mobile application. For the first edition, we’re having 3 new startups and will ask attendees to use their site and at the same time try to find bugs.
The tested applications are
- canvious, a new HTML5 site editor for developers
- enterprisingly, a place to shop technology services
- and gOsuway, a twitter for online gamers
For those in UX and usability, there’s already the great Usability Fix sessions, which gives you one on one usability sessions, with a handful of feedback gathered for one meetup. We love the UIFix sessions, and we hope that we make complementary events, with startups going to UIFix for usability and UX, and then to TheBugHunt for bugs and problems.
