Notman.org was launched last friday, a site meant to communicate to Montréalers that the House is now fully open, and also to explain the project.
It highlights the house’s past, since the building is a legacy of Montreal history, but also presents the vision for the future: it wants to be the center of technology in Montreal, with an open community space, and also office desks for new companies and startups. It also presents various projects such as the hackademy, a learning initiative for Montréalers.

As many knows, the Notman House is still looking for funding for the House, and up to this day, it’s still considered as a temporary project. A site was much needed to show the validity of the project to Montréalers and potential partners of the project.
As for the site in itself, a call was made to the community to whoever wanted to help design and build the site, but because of deadline issues, the site in itself was done mainly by Karel Ledru-Mathé, one of the House’s residant, plus additional design work by Derek Mounce. Overall, it’s a good site, although it would probably need to show what’s going on currently at Notman, by twitter updates for instance, or perhaps a page listing the residants or anyone who went to the place. NotmanWall, or the pbworks wiki, currently does a far better job in showing the dynamism of the house.
