For Software-as-a-service startups, ecommerce sites, or any other online venture, finding a credit card processor has always been problematic. Long Google searches don’t provide a clear answer, with providers which work bests for US startups, or with costs that cannot be found in the processor’s site. There are even cases where information requests do not provide a clear answer, since a salesperson will ask you for specific corporate information, your company sales history, your industry, just to come back with a very vague answer.

The results are that a lot of entrepreneurs are blocked in their business efforts, and then choose after a few weeks efforts to just use a simple Paypal button. Using Paypal may not seem professionnal, but at least it works, compared to going through the hassle of discussing with banks and online gateways.

Now Feefighters, a service which has been very popular in the States, have rolled out their service in Canada today. The service is free, and you all you have to do is go through a very simple form, and get a quote in just 3 minutes, all within a slick UI.

The result above shows the recommended processor for a Saas startup, which does $10,000 in monthly sales. You can always get back to the first page and modify the requirements to see if there are any other processors. The listed processors get a referral fee from feeFighters, but the feefighters told me the engine is 100% objective, meaning the most advantageous processor will always be listed first.

I find Feefighters an impressive service, since it brings immediate results and transparency in an area which typically means headaches for a business.

As an online consultancy principal based in Montreal – Roccanet Inc. has
had to be very creative to try to meet our clients needs within budgets
across the two major languages of Quebec. It is not realistic to think
that mid-market size Montreal and Quebec based businesses can simply
double their online marketing budgets to accommodate for the two
    languages.
