Bandzoogle, a leading site creation tool for music bands, has announced last week the acquisition of Sayvee, a BC-based startup, for an unannounced sum.
Sayvee practically offers the same tools, with ready-to-use beautiful templates, wysiwg editing, marketing tools for musicians, a tunes shop, and a calendar announcing tours and shows. It was started by a duo, Steve Devries and Nico Boesten, in early 2008, with marketing focused on the service’s simplicity: it’s so easy-to-use than even a computer-impaired artist would have no trouble using it. One difference with bandzoogle is that sayvee aimed to be more versatile, as it aimed also photographers or painters.
With the acquistion, Bandzoogle wins over 600 new customers which will be migrated over time to bandzoogle. Steve and Nico will also join Bandzoogle.
It’s great to see Bandzoogle expanding and getting new business. On their blog, there is clearly a focus on marketing, business, and online sales, plus also job postings, which are all clear signs of good business. On the other hand, Sayvee had a more product and tech oriented blog, which means Bandzoogle has a more mature product.
Congrats to David Dufresne (@daviddufresne), bandzoogle CEO, Chris Vinson, Bandzoogle founder, and both bandzoogle and Sayvee team members!
