Montreal Tech Watch

The next Montreal NewTech is coming up next tuesday March 1st, and it’s going to be at Notman House.

Montreal NewTech #27

As you can see in the photo above, McKibbins had a good bar atmosphere, but the Notman house has much more capacity, is in central downtown (corner St-Laurent, Sherbrooke), and has a much more natural fit for entrepreneurs and startups than the McKibbins bar. We’re expecting now more than 100 people, compared to the usual 50, with people coming to check out the futurecurrent home of the web, feel the rising status of Montreal as a startup hub, and also network with other developers and entrepreneurs.

We’re also getting sponsorship from Google Montreal, which will help pay for beer & snacks :)

We’ll have someone from Google for the event — if you or a friend are looking for a job, then it’s the ideal opportunity to come and discuss how it’s like working at Google.

The Notman House address is 51, Sherbrooke Street, with the event starting from 6pm and presentations starting at 6.30pm

Speaking of presentations, we will have 4 new applications and startups.

Canvious is by Gregory Whiteside (@paisible) and was recently featured on MontrealTechWatch for thbll, a simple but exciting service for application developers

Twitfooter.com is for active Twitter users who wish to display their latest tweets in their email signature, much alike Feedburner offering years ago the same service for blog posts.

Wenite is a web app and mobile app which lets you see the hottest clubs and bars in town. It was also featured on MontrealTechWatch a few weeks back

Another way to say it2 is a wiki/collaborative-style thesaurus.

As mentionned above, it’s a great way to see what’s up in Montreal, network with other entrepreneurs, and check how vibrant the community us. Don’t hesitate to tell your friends & coworkers!
