Montreal Tech Watch

ConFoo.ca

Since its origins as a conference for php developers, ConFoo has evolved into Montréal’s biggest web conference for developers, if not Canada’s biggest tech conference. They’ve unveiled today an enormous lineup of speakers for the upcoming 2011 edition, with more than 100 speakers (currently 110), from Montréal and Canada of course, but also a solid contingent of speakers from Europe and the USA in open source software, web technologies, php, ruby, python etc.

110 speakers is a lot for a 3 day conference, practically twice as much as this year’s. Attendees will have to miss a majority of the presentations. I just hope we will find out a way to get the best presentations, such as pointing out those who will be there to teach and help attendees about a new technology, compared to those who’d just be there to sell out what they are doing (or sell who they are)

ConFoo is organized by our good friends from phpQuébec, W3 Québec, OWASP QuébecMontrealPython and mtl.rb

If you are a developer, an engineer, a coder, be sure not to miss ConFoo 2011. The conference will be March 9th-11th at Montreal Hilton Bonaventure.
