Montreal Tech Watch

productcampmontrealHead over to ProductCampMontreal.com, a new camp event organized by Phil Gauvin, gathering product managers and product marketers. It’s the first of its kind in Montréal, although similar events have been organized in other North American cities.

Since it’s a camp event, there is no official speakers, rather attendees are actively encouraged to participate and present something. One of the promise of a camp or an unconference is that the event is only as good as the attendees want it to be, so for instance if they find the sessions bland or the schedule lacking, it’s only their fault of not being involved in co-organizing or presenting something more interesting.

Tentative sessions are listed already, with a vote mechanism.

The event is presented at the broader product managers audience, as such, you could meet a product manager from Bell or maybe a product marketer from CoffeeDepot, and not necessarily a tech/edgy audience. Of course, this being a camp event, and since Phil Gauvin is very active in the web and startup community in Montréal, ProductCampMtl has already been hijacked by the startup crowd, with talks about agile development, product design, lean startup and other topics dear to the people wanting to launch a product soon.

Needless to say if you are not sure about the path your product is taking, this would be the event to get answers… or at least get the help from an expert!
