Montreal Tech Watch

Company: StressLimitDesign

Position: Full time Front End Developer / User-Experience Focused Web Generalist

Responsibilites and Tasks:
We need someone passionate about web design and programming, who truly believes that code is indeed poetry [or should be].

You should know css html javascript php + mysql enough to understand what not to do in the Front End, even though you love a slick and nifty client-side interface.

You should be passionate about details, be completely results-focused on pushing things live quick and quality, and have a panic attack if something goes live not aligned.

You should be able to make grids, to find the best CSS fonts to use, the latest HTML5 new tricks, the knowledge and confidence to argue with designers about what should be done with css and not images, and enough wit to laugh about it all.

You should know your way around photoshop, and have enough design sense to know in most cases which parts of a .psd is a designer’s meticulousness and which parts are sloppiness that can be corrected in integration.

You should be a resourceful person knowing you can make unusual things with javascript. You should know by now that if you don’t know it, then you can learn about it online, and make it happen soon enough.

You should make sure the design delivered makes sense with web standards, and you should know when you are following and when you are breaking [and why!] web best practices and w3c standards.

While you should live and breath this stuff and want to change the web, you should also be an awesome person outside the internet, and you also need to thrive on the kind of fast-paced high energy environment we have around here.
