There is a funny blog post at techvibes, which reports about a South By South West Panel entitled “Blame Canada“. It ended with:
The panel ended with a rah rah Canada sentiment - we’re a viable place to work and we’ve made several fantastic contributions to new media and technology. All in all, Canada rocks. Which, we knew.
Sounds to me like self-congratulations and self-reassuring statements.

I don’t know about you, but I quite like Canada. all in all, we are pretty damn great, and all of the people that I work with here in Vancouver are pretty amazing.
Do you think Canada is missing something or is a larger picture issue you see?
well, colleen, for a start, i think people should stop watching the south and comparing themselves to other countries/valleys and just focus on building great stuff.
i agree, but i don’t think that precludes Canada from being a great country.The panel said NOTHING about comparing ourselves to other countries but instead focused on the fact that Canada was a great place to work and a viable country in which to DO the work.
