Cakemail launched! (1)

November 5th, 2007 · by Heri · startups

So I was about to write a complete review of CakeMail when I saw that it was featured at WebWorkerDaily. WebWorkerDaily is part of Om Malik‘s blog network and should provide CakeMail with a lot of visibility.

Alistair Croll, who is also VP of marketing at Montreal-based coradiant explains why web designers and web agencies need a white labeling email campaigns software which can be extended. CakeMail in itself differentiates from other emailing software by the use of a central API, upon which other developers can extend. Alistair Croll gives an example of a Google maps mashup, where the campaign manager could see the geographical distribution of the emails, but it’s not hard to imagine other usages.

WebWorkerDaily’s review is far more extensive than what I could have done, and I guess Alistair Croll is much more experimented than me on email campaings. One final thing that you have to check: it’s Francois Lane Bio, CEO of The Code Kitchen/CakeMail. I counted 6 web companies started by him since 1996, most of which there was a successful exit.
