These old-media unions are not the only folks wanting to regulate the Internet as if it were a broadcast media. Many politicians have been calling for "licensing" of ISPs, which would effectively wipe out small community ISPs, wireless coops, and so-on. I host digital-copyright.ca as a forum to coordinate responses to technology law issues like this. While we have focused on copyright revision, other laws which harm citizen control of new media are also covered. They are really going too far. Saiku Koivu is a hockey player, he is not providing a public service. The guy who says he should be "served" in french is really ... well I don't know what to say.
