The project started as a challenge on the wp-hackers list: http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2007-September/014399.html Which led to me replying with a joke, then suggestions: http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2007-September/014405.html Then Matt Mullenweg, aka Mr. WP, picked up on the thread and made it juicy by making it a competition with iPhones as prizes. http://comox.textdrive.com/pipermail/wp-hackers/2007-September/014432.html So my 2 american teammates and I randomly teamed up and made WPhone as our entry. Then it turned into much more, with us deciding to actually go further and just support all web capable devices, down to my crappy little Motorola v551. And now I have the Android SDK downloading to see if we can support the rich interface on it. :) And we'll release 1.4.1 tonight, with better support for Nokia devices. Now if only I could get to my own blog and post about it. ;) Soon... LOL, I though Matt had gotten that when he posted. :)

The dual support mode is at the core of the strategy, but we are looking forward to making it better for non-iPhone users, with better styling when CSS is supported, etc. Thanks for the post guys. :)
