Montreal Tech Watch

Company: Praized Media

Position: Bleeding-Edge and Curiosa.licio.us front-end web developer

Responsibilites and Tasks:
Working with the Praized (small and dedicated) Dev Team, you will have the opportunity to define with us the core concepts of a novel way to handle local data and be responsible for the implementation of the Praized Platform front-ends (yes, there’s several). Strong track record with cutting edge Ruby on Rails + AJAX deployments and solid knowledge CSS and browser quirks (internet exploder… sigh!) is a must. At least 3-5 years of scars are probably what you need to qualify, but we like fast learners so take a chance with us if you have less but think you are a hotshot coder.

Required Knoweledge:
Knowledge of front-to-back-end development is a must, as you will be working with a pack of wolves doing the development of a distributed and atomized data platform. You need to be passionate about user experience and still understand how things are handled on the low-level. Proficiency in Ruby on Rails and fluency in post-agile work environments are major bonuses (and tolerance for management overloading corporate statements with buzzwords, but you get the gist). Interest in microformats, XUL, web APIs and blogs will be received with joyful exclamations.

Compensation:
This position is entitled with market level compensation (for the Montreal, awesome cultural environment provided for free!) and option plan. Extra flexibility for setting up your work environment and telecommute included in this offer. We are “result oriented” and beyond management speak it means you are what you ship (and we are too).

Additional info:
We are a bunch of hard-working, over-confident but humble crew. We do have a different perspective on work/life balance, we all have kids and happy significant others, if that tells you something. We were recently funded and are quite aggressive in defining the space at the intersection at local+social. If our motto “trust your tribes” rings true with you, we might want to meet. If you can entertain us on why Facebook “add a friend feature” is broken and why del.icio.us is so awesome, please do!

Cette offre d’emploi est rédigée en anglais afin de parcourir le réseau global sans entrave, but we sure do consider your capacity to express yourself in multiple languages and your multi-cultural heritage as a definite advantage.

How to apply:
You can polish you resume before sending it to us (xhtml, rtf, pdf or odf) but rest assured, we will google your name for additional information (feel free to do the same with us!). Any RSS feeds we can subscibe too (blog, del.icio.us, flickr, whatever) is a good way to make sure we connect on many levels.
