I went Wednesday to the monthly tech entrepreneur breakfast, and came at Bistro Etc quite early, as we hoped to do some business with the guys from MontrealStartup. Now I was in a position where I make and report the news so I will have to pass on the monthly elaborate report.
Still, if you are curious, I will mention:
- I met Dominique Boucher is behind the Montreal Lisp User Group. Guillaume Cartier, one of his friends, had his own company specialized in Lisp and said “Montreal is becoming the Lisp Silicon Valley”. I have no experience with the language and no elaborate knowledge of Lips programmers and companies in Montréal, so I will leave this to you to think about.
- I talked with Eric Kucharsky from TechnoMontreal, which has a new group blog. I am planning to write a few posts there too, even though I am not sure about the details.
- Philip Raphals is from Centre Helios and they have a brand-new solution in cleantech, in solar and biomass technologies specifically. This is very interesting, and I might see him again
- Karim J.Yaghmour is founder and CEO of Kryptiva, a startup which does secure email. The company is privately funded, and they are now looking for A series fund. See a video presentation here.
- Stanley Chan, “newly arrived” in Montréal, has a team and a startup project in mobile, codenamed Scisbo, which I don’t know how to pronounce. But maybe they have a funky product and logic behind it, so stay tuned for updates.
