Kangaroo is based in Mirabel but the concept is interesting so I still want to write about it. They are producing a mobile device that receives live video and also audio comments from the teams. It has already been used in Formula 1 and Nascar and received positive feedback, mainly from spectators who have regular seats and want to get more information and be in the heart of the action.

kangaroo device

For instance, for a Formula 1 Grand Prix, you can rent the device for 100$ and pay about 50$ each day to get the broadcasts. Which is a tad expensive for an extra for me: you might as well get the premium seats at that price. The device also have this walkie-talkie look, straight from the 80′s. So if i were watching a Grand Prix, I would rather prefer that the organizers setup a wifi access and deliver a live video broadcast, avalaible to people with devices like iPhones, internet tablets or laptops. Much more flexible and less costly for everyone.

But who I am to judge, I am not a die-hard racing sports fan, so I will leave the final judgement to you.
