cogeco

COGECO, the group behind TQS, Rhytm FM and the cablo-distribution service Cogeco Cable, has announced +46.3% increase in revenues ($277 million) and +44.8% in profits ($95.5 million). Most of the growth comes from its cable service, which got them $240.6 million in this quarter.

From the press release [PDF], it seems they have reached a plateau in media, as competition increases in television and radio, but they have had a lot of sucess with new services in cable, such as HD programming.

Nice to see a company from Montreal expanding in new countries like Portugal.
