Conversational Politics in Quebec

By Heri Jun 9th 2007 in Design

Yesterday, the Prime Minister’s office published questions by citizens and Jean Charest’s answers.

Previously, they already had a page about questions and the prime minister’s answers, but everyone knew the questions were made up by his staff. Now, it seems we are going to a conversation mode. To proove this, there is a video of Jean Charest talking about the budget and answering to a series of questions, by people from all over Quebec. This is not yet a videoblog, but we are close.

This is a very good move – for transparency and dialogue. However, I would have liked to see more spontaneity. I would love for example to see video bloggers like the guyz from yulbuzz go over there and ask him directly real questions. Or maybe he should get a video crew and start a video blog.
