Montreal Tech Watch

First, I would like to apologize for the crappy tools I used for the contest. Thank you for sticking up. MTW will use polldaddy for upcoming polls, to get the “pulse” of the local community.

I have closed the polls for the MIAW for March.

Stéphane Hamel and Fred Ngo were very close at the beginning, but soon Fred Ngo started to get massive support. He got 62% of the 29 votes.

Thanks then to Fred Ngo then for initiating and organizing Democamp and Barcamp in Montreal. I think Barcamps are doing a lot for the community and we will see a lot of great work ahead, made possible because of BarCamp.

Another closing comment: it is nice to be extremly focused in the tech world, but it is better to be involved in other networks. Fred Ngo had support from Toronto, Ottawa and other parts of the US. I even had one of my friends vote for him because she recognized Fred from cat’s corner. This will serve him a lot the day Fred Ngo launches a new service.

Here are example of tweets from [...]

Tip of my “web analytics” hat to Fred! It’s true that DemoCamp looks great and I will try to attend in the future. And who knows, maybe we could organize a joint event!

The Montreal tech scene is part of a worldwide, ever expanding and evolving system. Your comment about other networks is right on the spot. Just today, a post appeared on a Sweden site where I was interviewed.
